I’ve had Lattafa’s Mazaaji for over 2 years and for a while I was kinda in love with it but not anymore
It opens with a blast of sweet jasmine, orange blossom and vanilla and almost immediately starts turning creamy and lactonic.
This is meant to be a rose forward fragrance but the rose isn’t prominent at all…….at least in the first half of the perfume’s lifetime.
I hardly ever get Rose and when I do it’s like a muted, soapy, borderline medicinal, green rose.
As time passes, Mazaaji gets super creamy, super lactonic and super honeyed to the point of being cloying and these accords make it hard to also appreciate the citrusy facets of the perfume.
The last time I wore this was in cool Lagos weather and it was heavenly unlike how cloying it gets in Sokoto heat.
This is said to be a dupe for Elie Saab Le Parfum Royal and it smells like something marketed heavily towards mature women.
If you love the Chanel Coco Mademoiselle DNA, you’d most probably like this.
I gifted this to my mum as I already have Elie Saab Le Parfum Intense which I very much like better than this.
13hrs later, the drydown’s highlights are stale citrus, musk, patchouli, amber, vanilla, rose with the creamy accord markedly toned down ……. reminds me of Oud Al Ward by Bait Al Bakhoor at this point.
Performance is great with 1 foot projection for 4 hrs and 13hrs plus longevity on skin.
This is yet another perfume I let go of as it was just not compatible with the weather in my regular location.
Bye guys
