How To Cancel MTN, Glo, Etisalat & Airtel Internet Data Subscription

Last month I made up my mind to take advantage of Airtel’s 3GB for N2800 blackberry Internet access offer (SMS BCM3 to 440). Unfortunately I made the dumb mistake of recharging my account without deactivating my previous plans and as soon as the money landed into my account, I was automatically subscribed to their BlackBerry Complete and Night / Weekend data plans.

Yesterday I exhausted my data and experienced quite a bit of stress trying to get myself out of Airtel’s auto renewal cycle and I only succeeded after quite a bit of trial and error.

Aside from Globacom Nigeria, I think this tactic of not displaying the subscription cancellation codes for the various blackberry and mobile internet plans helps the networks keep you stuck with them hopelessly even when their services are a hot mess.

Thus I’ve decided to compile this list for all those who might have been in my shoes and didn’t know how to detach themselves. Below you will find the major telecom networks in Nigeria with their subscription cancellation codes or USSD for both BlackBerry internet access and Mobile data access.
