Canadian VOIP service provider, Comwave, has announced the release of its ePhone app for BlackBerry Playbooks. Filling the void left by the non-existence of Skype for BlackBerry Playbook, Comwave’s ePhone allows users to make and receive phone calls without a fuss on their BlackBerry Playbook tablet PC.
Currently in BETA phase and available via the BlackBerry App World, the ePhone app is offering new users 3 days or 100 minutes of free local and international calls to over 50 countries after which you’d be required to pay just $20/year.
If you’re totally satisfied with your 3 day trial, the $20 yearly fee will get you the following:
- 250 Free minutes monthly for local/international calls
- Unlimited Free Incoming Calls
- Free ePhone-ePhone voice and video calling
- Your own personal number
NOTE: Once your monthly 250 minutes call credit is exhausted, you’d be charged for calls starting from 2.9c/min to countries like the US, UK, Canada and India.
