The opening of FA Paris After Effect reminds me of Lattafa’s Khamrah minus the heavy gourmandness of that perfume; boozy dusty cinnamon and nuts with hints of incense, fruits and kerosene.
The booziness its known for doesn’t fully kick in till after like 3-5 minutes at which point it smells like the cork of a wine bottle.
For like 4hrs it stays smelling sweet, woody, boozy with that kerosene note still present.
The kerosene drenched incensy woods vibe is quite dominant at this point and really stresses me out.
In my head, it smells like someone was trying to create a smoky accord by burning some woods with kerosene but the kerosene overspilled.
6hrs in, it turns into a smoky woods, amber and boozy scent.
The far drydown is a creamy woody amber at 12hrs in.
That kerosense nuance ruined this perfume for me and I can’t stand it.
In its place I’d rather recommend Maison Alhambra’s Infini Elixir which also has that same annoying kerosene accord but starts to dissipate almost immediately after spraying.
By the time you hit the 2hr mark of wearing Maison Alhambra’s Infini Elixir, the dusty kerosene drenched incensy woods feel has receeded to the background with the sweet boozy cinnamon dominating.
As always, your experience with these two perfumes might vary so do please sample before getting a full bottle.
They are not blind buy worthy scents in my opinion.
Bye guys.
