I have a Xiaomi Mi Note 10 Pro running Android 11 MIUI 13 and for quite some time now my Google Phone app has stopped waking up my screen each time I get a phone call. I always have to unlock my phone to see who’s calling me.
To fix this, I always have to uninstall all updates to the app. The minute I update the app, the problem returns and because of this I switched to Truecaller and for a while all was well until a recent update.
Luckily, I finally stumbled on the solution after scouring through Reddit. All the obvious solutions online like turning off battery optimization and turning on lock screen notifications didn’t work for me.
The problem lies with the App Lock functionality on my phone. Apparently prior to the latest updates for Google Phone and Truecaller, the apps were able to turn on the lock screen despite App Lock being on but that is now no more.
Go to Settings, search for App Lock then scroll down to deactivate Google Phone and Truecaller. You should be able to see incoming calls on lock screen now.
If you’re not using a Xiaomi phone, just check to see if your phone has the app lock function then turn it off for these apps and test to see if that fixes the issue for you.
NOTE: I think this also applies to Whatsapp calls if I’m not mistaken.
Hope this helps and do let me know in the comment section if it does. Bye guys
